Dr. Wenninger graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Following graduation he moved to eastern Pennsylvania where he worked at two advanced veterinary hospitals before relocating to his home state of Wisconsin.
After 7 years in private companion animal and exotics practice, he accepted a position as associate veterinarian at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and moved to CA.
While focusing on zoo medicine, Dr. Wenninger wanted to continue seeing companion animal patients and accepted a part-time position at the Animal Medical Center of Merced. Dr. Wenninger enjoys the challenges of veterinary medicine with special interests in surgery, internal medicine and exotic animal medicine.
Dr. Wenninger resides with his wife Amanda and son Maxwell. Together the Wenninger family has dogs (Remmy, Ginger, Emma), cats (Ratcat and Willie), a blue and gold macaw (BG), a cockatiel (Angel), chickens, and a group of monitor lizards. In his free time, Dr. Wenninger enjoys outdoor activities, visiting zoos, and most of all, spending time with his family.
